Motorists travelling in and out of Liverpool via Edge Lane are advised of essential highway improvement works, ongoing until July 2017.
During this time, lane restrictions will be in place between Mill Lane and Montrose Way.
From Tuesday, 18 October, Edge Lane Drive / Edge Lane will be reduced to a single lane to enable essential utility duct crossing works for STAT’s and traffic signals at Mill Lane, Rathbone Road and Montrose Way junctions (westbound and eastbound).
This will take place during the off-peak periods of 9.30am and 3.15 pm and for a period of three weeks.
From 24 October, Mill Lane (which runs from Edge Lane to Binns Road) will be subject to closure for one week between the hours of 7:30pm and 5am each evening, so that duct crossings can be laid for Scottish Power and BT.
Motorists are advised to consider using alternative routes in to and out of the city and are also advised to allow extra time to complete their journeys.
A spokesperson for The Derwent Group, the developer delivering the £100m transformation of Edge Lane Retail Park into Liverpool Shopping Park which requires this work to be completed, said: “We are very sorry for the delays and any inconvenience this may cause for motorists travelling in and out of Liverpool.
“We’re working closely with Liverpool City Council as part of their Better Roads campaign to give motorists as much notice as possible of any delays and diversions.
“The end result will be improved roads and links to the new £100m Liverpool Shopping Park, which will bring 41 new retail and leisure operators to this part of the city and create more than 3,000 new jobs.”
