Hundreds of pounds has been raised for homeless charities through a Big Boss Brekkie at the Pier Head.

Deputy Mayor, Cllr Ann O’Byrne, helped dish up bacon butties and sausage sandwiches, yoghurt and fruit on Wednesday 21 June/

The Big Boss Brekkie is a week long initiative from the Whitechapel Centre, asking local businesses to host breakfast events to raise money for homelessness.

The council worked with Liverpool Homeless Football Club, who have acquired the Back Kitchen mobile catering van to cater at events to raise money for their charity, but also to train homeless people to cook, develop skills and continue to gain qualifications through NVQ’s.

Cllr Ann O’Byrne said: “It was great to see so many people turning out to help support two very deserving organisations and help raise money for their vital work.”
