Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet meeting took place last night, with a raft of key decisions on some major projects and events were taken.
Here are some of the highlights from the meeting, which was held at Liverpool Town Hall:
Financial stability: the Cabinet reviewed the Revenue and Capital Finance Exception report for 2024/25, reaffirming our dedication to financial transparency and stability.
Performance insights: we discussed the Q1 performance update, emphasising our commitment to delivering the 6 pillars in our Council Plan.
Enforcement agent services: Cabinet approved an extension for the current Enforcement Agent contracts until March 31, 2025. This extension allows us the necessary time for a comprehensive tender exercise for re-procurement.
Investing in digital initiatives: exciting plans for new ICT initiatives were discussed, aimed at supporting front-line staff and enhancing youth services.
World Boxing Championships: we explored our City’s preparations for the inaugural World Boxing Championships, which the city will be hosting in September 2025.
Everton stadium parking: proposals for new parking management measures around the upcoming Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock were presented, aiming to enhance accessibility for all.
Anfield redevelopment: Cabinet also discussed the next steps for the redevelopment of Anfield, a £5m upgrade to the highways infrastructure, ensuring that we continue to invest in our community.
Local Plan for Liverpool: finally, we reviewed the draft of the Liverpool Local Plan, which is crucial for guiding our City’s development. This draft document is currently out to public consultation. Have your say here.
