Active bingo at St David’s Church

Active Bingo was the focus of the latest community event at The Friday Café at St David’s Church in Childwall, on Friday 7 September.

The Friday Café, set up using a slice of Mayoral Neighbourhood Fund by Cllrs Jeremy Wolfson and Liz Parsons, has run successfully for more than four years, introducing a monthly community event.

Active Bingo is a new and innovate way to increase physical activity/exercise with those in the community who may not be exercising.

It aims to increase activity levels and ties in with the Liverpool City Strategy to get ‘More People, More Active, More Often.’

The difference with traditional bingo is that it has picture actions on it instead of numbers and participants copy the action and when they have crossed off all the actions there is a Full House and they are the winner!

Councillor Wolfson said: “This was another extremely successful event and we had excellent feedback from those taking part.

“I would like to thank Andy Ireland from Healthiness for bringing it to the Friday Cafe.”
