Anfield scheme in running for award

The Anfield Regeneration Project has been named one of the Top 60 Developments for 2015 by Inside Housing magazine.

The regeneration project is breathing new life into a once rundown area of the City, through the regeneration and remodelling of properties that were no longer meeting the housing need. Nowhere is this more evident than on Gurnall Street, where several of the terraced houses have been remodelled into spacious, airy family homes.

The project is led by a partnership made up of Your Housing Group, Liverpool City Council and Liverpool Football Club.

The Top 60 Developments celebrate success and innovation in delivering new homes. The list highlights achievement in ten key areas, from design to sustainability. In each area, the best development will be chosen and awarded a winner’s trophy.

Lorraine Donnelly, Development Director at Your Housing Group, said: “We are so proud to be recognised by Inside Housing for the work we and our partners are doing in Anfield.  It is a brilliant achievement for The Anfield Regeneration Project to make it into the Top 60 in the face of such fierce competition in the Regeneration Scheme of the Year category”

The Anfield Regeneration Project is highlighted in the Regeneration Scheme of the Year category, and will now compete with five other developments to try to win over the judges and become category winner.

The category winners will be unveiled at a ceremony on Friday 16 October at the Lancaster London Hotel to celebrate the Top 60 and award the trophies.

Emma Maier, editor of Inside Housing, said: “Across the UK there is a crisis in the supply of quality, affordable homes. We launched the Top 60 Developments this year to reward those who are excelling in providing much-needed homes. We were inundated with entries from the leading organisations that have been behind the most innovative and impressive projects in the UK.”

The sponsors of the awards include: H + H, Higgins & NHBC.
