Echo Arena's new performance space

Arena’s new performance space

Echo Arena Liverpool is set to welcome more comedians, up and coming bands and family shows with the launch of an intimate event space.

The Auditorium Liverpool will hold smaller capacity performances, for audiences between 850 and 1,350, within Echo Arena’s sister venue BT Convention Centre.

The first event to take place will be Snooker Legends, when ‘The Rocket’ Ronnie O’Sullivan will take on ‘The Whirlwind’ Jimmy White on October 25. The musical Rent will come to the venue on April 27, 2013.

The Auditorium Liverpool will host live music, theatre, children’s shows, broadcast events, film screenings, and spoken word performances such as plays, speaker events and poetry readings.

Ian Congdon, Echo Arena Liverpool sales manager, said: “The Auditorium Liverpool will be an intimate performance space targeting shows with audiences of up to 1,350, capacity can be reduced to 850 thanks to two unique rotating drums within the auditorium.

“The space will fill the gap in the city for artists looking to perform in more intimate surroundings while enabling the audience to get even closer to their favourite comedians, bands and sports stars in a theatre-style setting.

“We are excited about welcoming some fantastic new acts which may previously not have had a suitable venue where they could perform in the city. We’re also expecting some well-known names from the world of sports, comedy, theatre and music.

“Above all, we will provide promoters and performers with an acoustically-designed space with the level of service and expertise they have come to expect from Echo Arena Liverpool.”

The Auditorium Liverpool follows the success of the launch of EchoTwo last year, which hosts shows with a maximum crowd of up to 4,000.  It provides a venue within the D-end of the arena, creating an auditorium-style space with the rest of the area closed off.
Forthcoming shows in EchoTwo include Mrs Brown Rides Again in December, Ronan Keating and Little Mix, both in February next year.mum crowd of up to 4,000. It provides a venue within the D-end of the arena, creating an auditorium-style space with the rest of the area closed off.
