Bin collections in Liverpool now take place on Bank Holidays,
Collections on weeks containing a Bank Holiday no longer take place a day behind schedule.
So householders are being asked to put out bins, bags and boxes on their regular day of collection
And they are also being asked to help Liverpool reach its target of recycling over half its waste.
Bulky items and other household items – fridges, furniture, small electricals and textiles etc – can be collected for free by ‘Bulky Bobs’. These items are reused or the parts recycled. To arrange a collection and for more information go to www.liverpool.gov.uk/bulkybob or call 233 3001.
The new Household Waste Recycling centre has opened at Cheadle Avenue, off Green Lane in Old Swan, L13 3AF where many items can be disposed of free of charge.
Items for recycling can be taken to any HWRC including Otterspool Recycling Centre Jericho Lane, Aigburth, L17 5AR sites. These centres are open daily from 8am to 8pm through the spring and summer.
