BLOG | Liverpool stands together for Hate Crime Awareness Week

Liverpool is coming together this October to say one thing loud and clear: hate has no home here.

From 11–18 October, Liverpool City Council and partners across the city will mark National Hate Crime Awareness Week with community events, workshops, and outreach sessions to raise awareness of hate crime, encourage reporting, and show solidarity with victims.

The city’s work is guided by three Liverpool City Region pledges agreed by local councils, Merseyside Police, and the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office. These pledges commit partners to:

  • Raise awareness and challenge hate-based behaviour.
  • Increase confidence to report hate crime.
  • Provide consistent and effective support for victims.

Throughout the week, partners will be out in communities across Liverpool, sharing information, listening to residents, and promoting the message that no one should face abuse, discrimination or violence because of who they are.

Week highlights
