Book of condolence for Glasgow helicopter tragedy

Liverpool’s Lord Mayor, Councillor Gary Millar has opened a book of condolence for the victims and families of last weekend’s helicopter tragedy.

Cllr Millar said: “My heart goes out to the victims, their families and friends and those injured in this terrible tragedy. May I also pay tribute to the emergency services and members of the public who assisted.”

“I know I speak on behalf of the City of Liverpool when I say that our thoughts are prayers are with the whole of Glasgow at this most difficult time.

“I encourage everyone to leave a simple message to let the people of Glasgow know that they are not alone.”

The book of condolence will be available at Liverpool Town Hall until Friday 13 December from 9am – 4pm, not including weekends.

The book was kindly donated by local printers / book binders Thomas Loughlin who heard the Lord Mayor had sent a letter of condolence to the Lord Provost of Glasgow on BBC Radio Merseyside and immediately offered to help.
