Business park fully occupied

Redsun Developments has completed the final phase of its innovate:speke development at Venture Point business park.

Four industrial workspace units are now completed and occupied on the 4.5 acre brownfield site. The first two units were sold to Killer Ink Ltd and Studiocare Professional Audio Ltd. The final units measuring 18,700sqft and 22,000sqft are now occupied by Merseyflex Ltd and ChargePoint Technology Ltd.

Merseyflex was formed in 1992 and are one of the North West’s leading suppliers of industrial hose, fittings and sealants. The new facility will expand on their current Liverpool-based operation and allow greater efficiency for their on-site hose fitting and testing & calibration services.

ChargePoint Technology are a multi award-winning company set up in 2009 following a management buyout. Their product innovation was originally carried out in conjunction with GlaxoSmithKline. ChargePoint are the market leaders in powder containment and sterile transfer valves supplying the pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, and other process industries.

The company was awarded the Queens Award for International Trade in 2012 and have since established offices in Hong Kong and the U.S. The new facility at Venture Point will be their headquarters for both R&D and manufacturing and will provide accommodation for their existing 60 Liverpool-based staff. ChargePoint will be undertaking a programme of fit-out works to increase the office capacity of the building to accommodate their future growth which will take their headcount to 100 over the next 5 years.

Chris Eccles, Managing Director, ChargePoint Technology said:”We’re delighted to be moving to innovate:speke, once we’ve completed the fit-out works we will have a complete purpose built facility to support our growth plans for the next 5 years and beyond. It has been a pleasure to work with Redsun to secure our new facility at a time when demand for this type of space is high. All credit to Nick and the team for recognising the need in the market early. If innovate:speke had not been in development it is highly likely that we would have had to look further afield to support our growth plans.”

Nick Wightman, Director, Redsun Developments, said : “This is the latest development we’ve completed that is fully occupied on completion. There is a genuine demand out there for new, high quality, well designed, energy efficient workspace. We’ve got a great mix of occupiers at innovate:speke and these latest two deals reflect the calibre of company we’ve have attracted to the scheme.”

The project was supported by the European Regional Development Fund.
