Businesses urged to get on board for British Style Collective

Organisers of the UK’s biggest ever fashion and beauty festival are encouraging Liverpool businesses to get involved when it hits the city’s streets this summer.
Tens of thousands of visitors are expected to attend as The Clothes Show moves out of Birmingham and into Liverpool for the first time in 27 years.
The event, which will now be known as British Style Collective presented by The Clothes Show in association with Alcatel, is set to take over the entire city from July 7 – 9.
Organised by Haymarket Media Group with support from the city, it will feature a celebration of fashion, beauty, fitness, health, celebrities, industry experts and education, along with a jam-packed programme of vibrant nightlife, entertainment and music.
The main action will take place in four iconic venues – Echo Arena, Exhibition Centre Liverpool, St George’s Hall and Albert Dock.
Claire McColgan, director of Culture Liverpool, highlighted how visitors are set to flock to hotels, bars, restaurants and attractions during their trip.
She said: “We’re honoured to be hosting the UK’s largest fashion festival which will take over the whole of the city in its new incarnation as British Style Collective presented by The Clothes Show. Due to the location of the host venues, thousands of visitors will flock to all areas of the city centre.
“We are therefore keen to encourage businesses to get involved where they can and make the most of the major footfall that will be generated in July during this event.
“The Clothes Show has been a huge success in Birmingham for the past 27 years and we want to show that Liverpool can stage large scale events like no other UK city.”
British Style Collective will feature three days of non-stop action including catwalks, pop-up stores, exclusive Q&As, panel discussions and music performances hosted by some of the nation’s favourite celebrities, designers, bloggers, vloggers and top fashion industry figures.
Kimberley Walsh, Mollie King and Vogue Williams will host the Alcatel Fashion Arena in the Echo Arena – an hour-long show twice a day, each welcoming 8,000 visitors, featuring fashion, dance, latest trends and catwalk, combined with live music acts.
The Concert Room of St George’s Hall will see exclusive Q&As and sofa sessions with leading names from across the fashion, beauty and entertainment industry such as designer Henry Holland and Glamour magazine’s editor Jo Elvin. Catwalk collections from leading designers will be revealed along with interviews by Hilary Alexander OBE.
Visitors can shop at more than 200 high street, beauty and skin care brands in Exhibition Centre Liverpool. The waterfront venue will also host the Expert Stage, welcoming industry experts who will present live demonstrations, Q&As, blogger talks and interviews with top celebrities working in the fashion and beauty industry.
Albert Dock will feature HemingwayDesign’s Fine Tuned fringe event – a collection of independent designers, street food vendors, vintage traders, performers and a classic car display.
Meanwhile in the Baltic Triangle (Camp and Furnace and Constellations) The Creative Hub will offer an immersive and experiential look at the future of fashion and wider creative industry.
Organisations already involved include Halewood, Liverpool One, Malmaison, Revolucion de Cuba, Sugar Hut, Neighbourhood, Oh Me Oh My, Holiday Inn Albert Dock, Bridge Street Apartments and Posh Pads.
