An appeal is being made for volunteers to help a single mum of two who was left homeless after her home was gutted in a fire.
Sarah Hebden, from West Derby, was widowed four years ago when her husband a Royal Marine was killed in a tragic accident and died before their daughter was born.
She had recently spent the money she received after her husband’s death on paying off the mortgage and having the house modernized and decorated when fire struck.
Unfortunately her house wasn’t insured and Sarah is now sleeping on her mum’s couch with her baby, her older daughter is staying with friends.
Now Craig Phillips, the first Big Brother winner, has stepped in to help . He will project manage the work to renovate the house and is using his contacts in the building trade to appeal for materials and volunteers to help.
Former Lord Mayor and local Councillor Tony Concepcion, said: ” As you can imagine this situation has devastated Sarah and her whole family who remain traumatised and in shock.
“We are appealing for volunteers with the necessary skills and any building companies willing to donate materials. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.”
