Carnival capers in Norris Green

AN ever-popular Liverpool community carnival is returning for fun this weekend.

The annual Norris Green Community Carnival takes place this on Saturday 11 August at Scargreen Recreation Ground on Shottesbrook Green.

The event, which regularly attracts hundreds of visitors, promises to be a full-on fun-fest with something to suit all ages and tastes.

Children can hit the saddle with a donkey ride, scale new heights on the climbing wall or experience the ups and downs of the bouncy castle. There will also be a plenty of children’s games and a carousel.

For the grown-ups there will be plenty of arty activities as well as the chance to relax with a range of holistic therapies.

Music-lovers can enjoy some live local bands and a dance performance.

For fans of the beautiful game there will be football coaching sessions and an inflatable soccer course. There will also be a free raffle and bingo.

The event will be opened by Lord Mayor of Liverpool Cllr Christine Banks and compered by Liverpool dance master ‘Jive Teddy’ and local singer Tony Flynn.

The Norris Green Community Carnival is organised by the Norris Green Community Alliance and sponsored by Norris Green Ward Councillors, Cobalt, LMH and The Henry Smith Charity.

The event begins at noon on both Saturday and Sunday and goes right through till 4.30pm. Everyone is invited to come along and join in the fun.
