As young people are receiving their A-Level and GCSE exam results and making key decisions about their future, The ‘Apprenticeship Hub Bus’ will be in the city region to provide a one-stop-shop of advice and live apprenticeship job vacancies.
The visit is thanks to a partnership between the National Apprenticeship Service and Liverpool City Regions Apprenticeship Hub Among the venue it will call at are
• 20th August – Williamson Square in Liverpool city centre
• 28th August – Morrisons supermarket, Speke
The Apprenticeships Bus will be open from 10am – 4pm
Advisors will be available to offer guidance and also help young people apply for live apprenticeship job vacancies which best suit their career needs and ambitions. It will also provide employers with the opportunity to find out more if they are thinking of offering an apprenticeship for the first time.
Councillor Nick Small, cabinet member for employment, enterprise and skills, said: “We need to increase the number of young people in the city taking up apprenticeships and they need to get the best advice available at a time when they are deciding on their future. So, they should catch this bus to find out more about opportunities which are available.”
Sue Price, Divisional Director for the National Apprenticeship Service in the North, said: “The concept behind the bus is simply to enable young people across Merseyside, to drop by and receive information and advice on apprenticeships so that they can make a more informed decision about their future.
“We also have lots of live apprenticeship job vacancies available locally so we can start to register and match-up youngsters with local employers – direct from the bus!”
