Celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week at Newsham Park

Mental Health Awareness Week takes place 12 – 18 May and this year’s theme is ‘Community’. We’re highlighting the vital role our communities play in promoting positive mental health and wellbeing.


Throughout the week Liverpool City Council’s Neighbourhood Team is hosting a week-long programme of free activities at Newsham Park designed to bring residents together through fun, engaging experiences.

Join us for games, creative sessions, and opportunities to connect with local services and community groups that support your wellbeing.

Events are FREE and take place at the Bandstand area (next to Prospect Vale)

Wednesday, 14 May

  • Mindfulness Session 11:00 – 12:00pm
  • Sway with Ray (Dance) 1:45 – 2:45pm

Thursday, 15 May

  • Going on a Bear Hunt & Family Picnic (for under 5’s) 10:30 – 12:00 Noon

Friday, 16 May

  • Chair Yoga 10:00 – 11:00am
  • Philharmonic Ensemble 12.30-1.30pm
