This afternoon saw the official opening of the newly refurbished Chung Hok House.
The newly refurbished Chung Hok House, run by Pine Court Housing Association provides over 470 quality affordable homes in Liverpool and Wirral, with a specific focus on the Chinese and South East Asian communities.
Chung Hok house provides bi-lingual services which enable Chinese speakers to access the full range of services and facilities available to the wider community. The sheltered accommodation promotes positive cultural tolerance and cohesion achieved by the introduction of lettings targets of 50% to people from BME communities.
Councillor Jeremy Wolfson Mayoral Lead for Older People (South) said;
I’m am delighted to have officially opened the £1m refurbished Chung Hok House. Its design has been thought out to ensure it has dementia friendly elements and there is a great schedule of activities available here to help reduce social isolation.’
