Christmas craft fair at community café

A Winter Craft Fair with a Christmas theme was the final event of the year at the Friday Morning Community Café, St David’s Church in Childwall.

The Friday Café was set up using some of the Childwall councillors’ – Frank Hont, Liz Parsons and Jeremy Wolfson – Mayoral Neighbourhood Fund.

It has run successfully for more than three years. A monthly community event is held on the first Friday of each month.

The craft fair was held at the Gladstone Hall, St David’s Church, Rocky Lane/Queens Drive.

Councillor Parsons said: “The craft fair was a great opportunity to buy gifts from local artists and crafters and, of course, an ideal way to get to know more people who live in this neighbourhood.”

As well as craft activities there will also be homemade cakes and sweets and toiletries to buy along with a free raffle. Father Christmas also mad an appearance and the choir from Rudston Primary School performed festive songs.
