Hundreds of local needy families are set to have a better festive season as a result of Liverpool City Council’s Charity Gift Appeal.
Staff from across the organisation donated Christmas gifts which have been handed over to:
• Liverpool Salvation Army
• Liverpool Homeless FC
• Young people leaving care
• Kinship Carers
The council’s team of 20 Charity Champions co-ordinated the appeal, while porters ferried all the gifts to the Cunard Building and drivers from Fleet Management delivered them.
Chief Executive Ged Fitzgerald said: “Our staff have made many people’s Christmases that bit easier and brighter. It was really humbling to see how generous city council staff are.”
