One of Liverpool’s leading businessmen and visionaries will be awarded the title of Citizen of Honour next week – Wednesday 26 November.
At a special Town Hall ceremony, Mike Parker CBE will receive the award in recognition of his contribution to the city through the business and voluntary sector as Chairman of Liverpool Vision.
Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Erica Kemp said: “I am delighted to be awarding Mike this very high honour.
“His vision and commitment has greatly benefitted the development of the City of Liverpool and its residents.
“Mike’s dedication to his home city has seen Liverpool grow into a world class destination for both tourism and investment, he is a most worthy recipient of this award.”
Although born in Liverpool, Mike has lived and worked across the world. He was approached in 2007 to lead Liverpool Vision’s newly formed board. He has played a key role in helping to create a world class environment that has regenerated the city of Liverpool, creating new employment opportunities and investment.
Mike Parker said: “I am incredibly proud to be named as a Citizen of Honour, and to receive this award in one of our finest buildings is fantastic.”
