City-centre health services to relocate to new premises
Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust (LCH) is relocating a number of its city-centre based community health services to a brand new, state-of-the-art city health centre.
Opening in mid-December, this new health centre will be located at The Beat in Liverpool ONE, with entrances situated on both Hanover Street and David Lewis Street.
The services that will be relocating into the new site include:
• ABACUS Sexual Health Services (Dale Street)
• The Armistead Centre (Stanley Street)
• Liverpool City Walk-In Centre and Sexual Health Services (Great Charlotte Street)
The centre will support patients by providing a modern, spacious new facility, and access to a wider range of health services conveniently located under one roof.
Patients will also be able to benefit from better transport links (bus, train and parking), as the new centre is located right next to car parking facilities, and less than a minute walk from the Liverpool ONE bus station and Central Station.
In addition, a new interactive Health Information Centre will also be opening on the site early in the new year, providing free, professional information and advice on a wide range of health issues.
Bernie Cuthel, Chief Executive at Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust said: “As a Trust, we are committed to delivering high quality health services to our local communities and to supporting people to live longer, healthier lives.
“Our new city-centre location will closely support us in this aim, enabling us to provide a wider range of health services in a modern, friendly and easily accessible healthcare facility, which will better serve the growing population of people who live or work in Liverpool city centre.
“We hope it will be a real asset to local communities for many years to come.”
The new health information centre will be situated at: The Beat, Hanover Street, Liverpool, L1 4AF.
However, the entrance for Abacus Sexual Health Services and the City Walk-in Centre will be located to the rear of the building at: 6 David Lewis Street, Liverpool, L1 4AP.
All existing opening times, appointments times and drop-in sessions for all of these services will remain the same.
