The latest in a series of community clean-ups to make the Warbreck ward sparkle has taken place.
It took place around the Rice Lane area including the recreation ground with brambles being cleared to open up paths and dead trees removed and replaced.
There were also litter picks around the area with free community skip provided for residents. Streets were cleaned and the poover was used to removed dog dirt.
Over 14 tons of waste were collected through the community skips and removing waste from the highway
Local councillor Ann O’Byrne said: “We want to make our neighbourhood cleaner and brighter in line with the mayoral pledge. This clean-up has made our streets cleaner and tidied up the recreation ground.
“I would like to thank our partners who helped us on the day as well as the residents who came out and joined in the clean-up.”
Further community clean-up days will take place in the ward throughout the year
