A careers festival is being held in Liverpool for young people aged 16-18.
It’s taking place from 11am – 3pm on Thursday 20 July 2023 at Crawford House, 2 Gwent Street, Liverpool, L8 8DN.
Liverpool Football Club and Merseycare NHS Trust will be among the many organisations attending.
It will give young people aged 16 to 18, or up to the age of 25 with an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP), the opportunity to speak with many different organisations and businesses.
Councillor Lila Bennett, Cabinet Member for Educational Attainment, Employment & Skills said: “Making sure our young people get access to good quality careers advice to help them gain the necessary skills and experience to secure decent jobs is a priority.
“The Careers Fest is an opportunity for young people to come along and find out more about how to enter a range of professions and industries.”
Sheila Clark, CEO of Career Connect said: “Career Connect is excited to mark the start of the next phase of our work with young people in Liverpool, on behalf of the Local Authority, with the delivery of our first Careers Fest.
“Careers Fest is a great opportunity to meet education and training providers, and employers with vacancies to fill. Having the chance for a face-to-face conversation can really make a difference, so I’d encourage young people looking at their options to come along. It’s great to see so many local employers and providers taking part, in support of our young people.
“Our friendly team of Career Connect advisers will also be there on the day. If you’re a young person not sure what training or career path to take, speak to the Career Connect team and they will help you to explore your options.”

- Liverpool City Council recently awarded the contract for services to support young people who are not in education, employment, or training to Career Connect. There is a particular focus on supporting the most vulnerable groups including young people who have an education health care plan, those being supported by the youth offending service and who are looked after or leaving care.
