A lunch club, meeting people attending a day centre, a look at a foodbank –and the European Cup – were the ingredients for a visit to a community centre.
Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress, Councillor Tony and Ann Concepcion and Deputy Mayor, Councillor Ann O’Byrne joined Cressington ward councillors in the recent visit to Bridge Chapel Community Centre.
After visiting the foodbank they met with people with disabilities who have a day centre there and had lunch with local pensioners who have a lunch club every Friday .
As Liverpool FC have an office at Bridge Chapel there was also an opportunity to hold the European Cup.
“It was a great day and an opportunity for us to see the work carried out at the centre”, said Councillor Mary Aspinall. “We would like to thank the centre’s manager John Sumner for arranging the visit.”
