Community clean-up in Warbreck

Warbreck ward councillors held a community clean-up day around the Rice lane and Welsh Roads area with the support of the Healthy Homes team, community payback and city council environment officers.

Over 14 tonnes of waste was removed  from the streets and alleyways as well as the community skips that were well used by residents. Councillor Cheryl Harrison said: “It was great to have the opportunity to talk to residents about recycling and refuse collections as well as how they can use Bulky Bobs free service for larger items.’

“Most of all its great when people get involved, get their brushes and shovels out and help to clean up and make the area shine!

“We also were invited in to see how people had transformed their yards into little oasis of tranquillity for themselves.”
