More than 30 volunteers from Orrell Park Homewatch Group came together with Liverpool City Council staff and ward councillors to chat to neighbours, discuss ideas and concerns and to clean up their community.
Councillor Ann O’Byrne said: “It’s always wonderful to work alongside residents who care so much for their community.
“A total of 15 skips were placed around the neighbourhood for residents to use. We all litter picked, helped older residents clear unwanted bulky items and cleaned the alleyways alongside our Liverpool Street Scene team.”
Following on from the Clean-Up, on Saturday 4 August, neighbours will get together again for a free family day in Devonfield Gardens from 12-3pm.
The event has been organised by Orrell Park Neighbourhood Watch and supported by the Ward Councillors and Love Walton CIC.
Councillor Ann O’Byrne added: “Families are invited to come and join us for lots of free fun, from yoga to crafts to face-painting there will be lots to do!”
