A community event on keeping your home safe and secure proved to be very popular.
About 70 residents attended the the Friday Morning Community Café, St David’s Church, Childwall, at which topics such as dealing with rogue traders and doorstep crime were highlighted.
Among the organisations who were present were Liverpool City Council, Healthy Homes, Merseyside Police, Age Concern and Alzheimer’s Society.
Phil Taylor from St David’s, who organises the community cafe events along with local councillors, said: “This was one of the most succesful events we have staged at the community cafe– and local people received a lot of helpful tips about keeping their homes safe. They have certainly found it to be very useful – as well as an opportunity to get together with local people.”
The Friday Morning Community Café which is supported by Childwall councillors, has run successfully for more than three years.
