On Saturday (24 November), Liverpool hosted the McCain UK Cross Country Challenge – a fantastic event which brought out the competitive edge in all those taking part.
This was an important time trial race for established cross country stars and up-and-coming athletes, and the race saw some top performances by the cream of the UK’s elite athletes who competed alongside local club runners.
Despite wet weather conditions, the Sefton Park event was declared a huge success , and it decided who would compete in December’s European Cross Country Championships in Budapest.
