Cruise Liner Terminal conclusion “by summer” says Mayor

Discussions about Liverpool’s Cruise Liner Terminal could be concluded “by the summer” following the personal intervention of the city’s Mayor.

Liverpool’s Mayor travelled to Brussels last week to meet with key officials from the European Commission to “find a clear way forward”.

The Commission has been asked to look at the case following complaints from rival ports.

Mayor Anderson said: “We have already provided information on the terminal to both the government and the Commission. But I think it’s better to meet people face to face. We were warmly welcomed and the meeting was very encouraging.”

“I am confident that a conclusion will be reached quickly – possibly as early as the summer.”

“I’m very grateful to Arlene McCarthy for her help in arranging this key meeting.”
