The deadline is approaching for bids to sponsor Liverpool’s successful cycle hire scheme.
Liverpool’s Citybike initiative was launched in 2014 and has proved hugely popular. There are 1,000 bikes available for hire from 140 stations across the city.
There have been nearly 150,000 rentals to date, more than 30,000 subscriptions and around 18,000 unique users travelling an estimated 700,000 miles.
The city council is looking for businesses to sponsor the successful scheme in order to develop Citybike in the future. The deadline for expressions of interest is 9.30am Monday 6 June.
Councillor Malcolm Kennedy, cabinet member for regeneration, said: “Citybike has been a real success story in the two years it has been in operation,
“But we want to build on that success and a looking for a sponsor who will help us develop the initiative and make it an even more attractive scheme for both local people and visitors..
“We are looking for an organisation which will invest in Citybike and champion cycling and a healthy, active lifestyle in Liverpool.”
Any business who would like more information on the scheme or would like to discuss potential sponsorship opportunities, should contact on firstname.lastname@example.org or 0151 233 0177.
