SP Energy Networks, with its service partner DT Hughes, is carrying out work to upgrade power cables in Liverpool, along Hanover Street, from the Junction of Gradwell Street and Paradise Street.
The project will renew six existing 11,000 volt circuits that support Liverpool city centre, reinforcing the security of electricity supplies for local homes and businesses.
The project has been scheduled following discussions with Liverpool City Council and Liverpool One, to ensure it did not clash with other work in the city.
This work will involve a one way road system on Hanover Street between Gradwell Street and Paradise Street starting on Saturday, 20 October for approximately one week.
A signed diversion will be in place during these works.
Andrew Lloyd, SP Energy Networks’ District General Manager for Liverpool, said: “We are investing significantly in Liverpool’s electricity infrastructure. As well as reinforcing supplies for homes and businesses, investments like this are also important to enable the electricity grid to be prepared for future developments, such as an increase in electric vehicles and their chargers. We will do everything possible to keep inconvenience to a minimum.”
