Feast of Fire’s food and drink offer set to sizzle
With just days to go, the first glimpse of the tantalizing food and drink offer at Feast of Fire shows that it will be one seriously fiery feast for all of the senses.
The chefs delivering the appetising artisan food and drink offer will be working with real fire to reflect the extraordinary installations, world class performers and live entertainment coming to the heart of Liverpool over the next two weekends.
So while your eyes are experiencing the spectacular springtime celebrations in St John’s Gardens, your other senses will enjoy the warmth and heat of sizzling food and spicy drinks.
Here’s what to expect from the Feast of Fire kitchens:
First off, ethically-driven Oregano Kitchen will be providing a truly unique pizza experience with on-site custom-built clay ovens, so you’ll be able to see how each of your hand-crafted pizzas are made. And if you need a gluten free option, this team of pizza aficionados will be more than happy to oblige.
Fancy a cocoa or caffeine hit? Then head to Coco’s stunning vintage bumperpull barrista van where they’ll be serving incredible coffee and hot chocolate-based cocktails. Hot tip of the day is ‘The Russian’ a seriously indulgent hot chocolate with Hazelnut vodka and salted caramel.
It may just be early spring, but it’s never too early for a BBQ, so if you’re looking for a meat-fest check out Quiet Waters and the multi-award winning BBQ and live fire specialists Love from the Streets who bring an element of theatricality to the barbie cooking routine. Turning over a burger takes on a hold new dimension with these guys in charge of the tongs.
From the Feast of Fire Bar, take your taste buds on a journey of discovery with some brand new fire themed cocktails. The Forge, served in a metal cup with theatrical fire, is a unique mix of Jameson’s, peat smoked apple juice with ginger, soda, cinnamon and fire. Meanwhile, the Crucible is a modern twist on mulled wine made with Beefeater gin, Byrhh, mulled spices and cranberry – served hot.
For all those with a sweet tooth, Treaty Pie, the cakes, shakes, waffles and cookies specialists, will be offering something a little bit different with marshmallows and their signature s’mores cookie, both of which are toasted in front of you, while their trademark Freakshakes come to you adorned with a sizzling sparkler.
John Wassell, co-founder and creative producer for Walk the Plank and co-producer for Feast of Fire, said:
“We really wanted to make Feast of Fire an exploration for all of the senses so it was important for us to bring something truly special for the taste-buds. All of the food and drink will be sizzling hot and cooked right in front of you.”
Councilor Wendy Simon, Assistant Mayor and cabinet member for culture, tourism and events, said:
“Feast of Fire promises to be an extraordinary experience that blazes the trail for Easter celebrations for years to come.
“The people of this city love new experiences and with the event taking place across seven eclectic nights there are plenty of opportunities for everyone, families and friends.
“There will be fire, magic, food and music, what more could you ask for!”
