Liverpool played host to nearly 2,000 gymnast’s last weekend as the British Ministrada Festival was held at Lifestyles Everton Park – attracting a sell out crowd from across the UK.
Of the 29 clubs taking part, the city was represented by Everton Park Gymnastics Club and HPL Gymnastics whose junior team won the prestigious ‘Best Junior Team’ award.
The overall winner was Middlesbrough GC, who delivered a stunning and emotive routine.
On Saturday the National Disabilities Squad received a standing ovation for combining the power and precision of gymnastics with the drama and artistry of the theatre.
Councillor Wendy Simon, Cabinet member for leisure and culture, said: “Congratulations to all of the teams that took part. This was a great event that was a fabulous showcase for gymnastics.”
