Fund-raising cadets honoured

Cadets who gave up their time to fundraise for the Liverpool’s Veterans Centre have been honoured.

The centre, which was opened earlier this year by Mayor Joe Anderson supports armed forces veterans and their families.

Cadets from 1 Royal Irish Regiment were awarded with certificates of achievement by Councillor Hayley Todd, the city’s Armed Forces Champion.

She said: “It was a pleasure to meet and chat with some of the young people and I was extremely impressed by their dedication, commitment and maturity.

“The centre continues to go from strength to strength and the support from our cadets is vital.

“I look forward to following the progress of these fine young people and wish them every success for the future.”
