A new gardening group has been launched in North Liverpool by volunteers, local councillors and staff at the Isla Gladstone.
The Stanley Park Social meets every Thursday for people to take part in gardening activities; from planting flowers to litter picking to removing foliage around the park.
This project is being supported by the Isla Gladstone; Managing Director Gemma McGowan said “In a park survey more than half of people said they wanted to get involved in looking after their park, learn new skills, and socialise in a relaxed environment; so we’ve established The Stanley Park Social to bring all those activities together. It’s brilliant to see people taking pride in their local green spaces and we want to support that.”
Councillor Adele Dowling said “This is a great initiative and it’s fantastic to see the Isla Gladstone involved. As the Anfield Ward Councillors we regularly take part in clean up days and we’ll be getting involved in the Stanley Park Social too!”
The group is open to all over 16 and all abilities are welcome, the meeting point is The Lodge off Anfield Road at 10am every Thursday for activities followed by a hot drink and a chat at Kemps Bistro.
