Following concerns raised about issues at the Derby match at Anfield on 28 January, a meeting of the Ground Safety Advisory Group has been convened.
It will be held on Wednesday 5 February when it will receive an update in relation to the issues on Anfield Road before the match.
Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson said; “I asked the chair of the group, Councillor Ann O’Byrne, to call this meeting after being contacted by a number of fans about their concerns.
“The safety of fans is paramount and I want to make sure that we do everything we can to prevent the scenes which happened before this match occurring again.”
The Safety Advisory Group consists of representatives from the city council, all the emergency services, Liverpool and Everton football clubs and official supporters groups from both clubs and can make recommendations to the Licensing Committee in relation to stadium safety
