ACC Liverpool made it a hat-trick by scooping the accolade for Best UK Conference Centre at an industry awards for the third year running.
The venue was named Best UK Conference Centre at the M& IT Industry Awards, hosted by magazine Meetings and Incentive Travel. Liverpool Convention Bureau was awarded silver in the Best UK Convention Bureau category.
The ceremony, held at Battersea Evolution, London, celebrates the best UK venues, destinations and suppliers in the events industry, as voted for by meeting industry professionals.
Bob Prattey, chief executive of ACC Liverpool, home to BT Convention Centre, Echo Arena and, from September, Exhibition Centre Liverpool, said: “To be named the UK’s Best Conference Centre for three years running is a phenomenal success and testament to all our staff at ACC Liverpool.
“To have retained this award in the opening year of Exhibition Centre Liverpool, our sister venue, is a vote of confidence from the industry that our facilities and services at ACC Liverpool really are best in class.
“We would like to take the opportunity to thank those in the city who support our activity. We look forward to many more years of working together to raise the profile of Liverpool as a world-class meeting and events destination.”
Kate Currie, Convention Bureau manager, added: “It’s a real honour to receive silver as Best UK Convention Bureau by those in the industry who are best placed to judge. As well as my team, who richly deserve the praise, I’d like to thank everyone we work with; conference venues, hotels, restaurants and the myriad organisations that make Liverpool such an attractive conference destination.
“Ahead of such a busy year, this comes as a real boost for the team and we will hopefully see more high-profile conferences choosing Liverpool.”
