Historic chance for volunteers

It might not be as dramatic as Downtown Abbey but vacancies have arisen for maids, butlers or footmen at an Edwardian Country House.

The jobs, however, are not full-time positions and they come without pay.

Croxteth Hall is looking to recruit more Heritage Volunteers to form part of the “household staff” at the hall. They will help guide thousands of visitors around the Hall and Estate each year.

“The volunteers play an essential role in the Hall’s living history educational programme, “said Councillor Peter Mitchell, Mayoral Lead on Parks and Open Spaces. “So this is a fantastic chance for anybody with a few hours to spare and who is interested in history to join a great team in a fascinating role.

Anybody who is interested in volunteering should contact the Rangers on 0151-233-6915 or 6912 or email park.rangers@liverpool.gov.uk or call in to the park for a chat.
