IFB heads for Belle Vale on Independence Day

Belle Vale is getting into the spirit of Liverpool’s International Festival for Business (IFB) on Independence Day.

On Friday 4 July, a special Enterprise Day is taking place at Belle Vale Shopping Centre from 11am to 3pm to promote enterprise and business start-ups, organised in partnership with Riverside Housing.

It will include representatives from Liverpool Vision and training providers who can give people interested in setting up businesses the help and information they need to do so. This could include the qualifications they need to start a business in hairdressing, plumbing, electrical, catering or health and social care, or small business.

The idea for the event came from Belle Vale ward councillors Janet Kent and Claire Glare and it has been organised by Doreen Dunmore from Riverside Springboard Employment and Training team and is hosted by Belle Vale Shopping Centre and their manager Paul Wilson.

Councillor Kent said, “July 4th is Independence Day, and the right time to think about setting up on your own, or even with a friend, or with family. Every big business started as a small one first. This is like learning to ride a bike – you need someone to hold the saddle, until you do not know they are not there any more! This could be a Dream Weavers for those wishing to get going for themselves, so please drop in and find out!

“I am delighted that Belle Vale Shopping Centre has offered us space to hold this event and enable people interested in setting up their own business to get the support and assistance that they need.”

Among those attending the event will be Cabinet member for Business, Enterprise and Investment, Councillor Gary Millar at 12 noon to 12.30pm.

The following organisations will be on hand:
• Liverpool Vision
• Blackburne House
• Dream High
• Princes Trust
• Speke Training and Education centre
