Independents Day at Belle Vale Shopping Centre

Belle Vale Shopping Centre is hosting an annual ‘Independents Day’ convention to promote enterprise and business start-ups on Friday 3 July.

The event is FREE to the public and organised by Liverpool City Council in partnership with the shopping centre, from 10am – 3pm.

Exhibition stands will be set up on the main mall by a range of organisations and professionals. The public are invited to come along and pick the brains of these experts, who have a wealth of experience and can advise on a range of career topics. These specialists are on hand to discuss how you can get your business off the ground and how to become job ready. Advice will be provided on business planning, funding, marketing and qualifications on a broad range of subjects.

The aim of the event is to raise awareness within the local community about the business services that are available to them. It will provide information on local training and further education where individuals can gain the skills and qualifications to build a business or become job ready. There is also the chance to discuss opportunities within Belle Vale Shopping Centre as the scheme currently has fantastic space, store units and retail merchandising units available, to help businesses reach out to new customers.

Paul Wilson, Centre Manager said; “We have seen an increase in small independents over the recent years and this is a fantastic opportunity for these businesses to find out what avenues there are out there to support their business growth. I am really pleased that Belle Vale Shopping Centre is going to play a part in enterprise within the community.”

Councillor Gary Millar, Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet member for business and enterprise, said: “If you have ever thought about setting up your own business, this is a great event to attend. There are loads of experts on hand ready to give free advice and let you know the best way to achieve your goals. As a council, we want to drive up the number of small businesses in the city, and coming along to Belle Vale Shopping Centre on 3 July is a brilliant way to find out more.”
