7F (1st City of Liverpool) Squadron Air Cadets, based at the Army Reserve Centre on Aigburth Road, is currently undertaking an extensive cadet recruitment campaign having recently lost some of its more senior cadets due to work and university commitments.
The Squadron is having an open evening on the 25th July from 7.30pm – 9pm.
The Air Cadets is a UK-wide cadet force sponsored by the Royal Air Force. Cadets get the chance to do a huge range of activities many others can only dream about, such as adventurous training, camps at RAF stations and drill through to leadership exercises and playing in a marching band.
They also have the potential to gain their Private Pilot Licence, earn BTEC awards, and gain the Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
7F Squadron is one of the oldest Squadrons in the UK, having been formed in 1939.
Cadets can join when they’re 12 years old and in Year 8, until they’re 16 – so if you fancy the challenge, why not come and see what you’re missing out on?
