This year’s Light Night Festival welcomes its first Food & Drink Festival, which will be taking place in the city’s Commercial District BID. This mouth-watering event will take place on Friday, May 17 from 11am to 9pm and continuing on Saturday, May 18 from 11am to 5pm in Exchange Flags Square, which is located behind The Town Hall.
The Square is set to be buzzing with some of the best restaurants, bars, hotels and coffee shops Liverpool’s Commercial District BID city centre has to offer. A vibrant a mix of flavours to set your taste buds going from gourmet coffees, cocktails and fruit drinks to crispy salads, chilli’s, stews, delights from the orient and high class cuisine.
Light Night Liverpool is a celebration of the Arts and Culture offerings in the City. Museums, Libraries, Arts venues and various businesses will keep their doors open late on Friday 17th May for people to take advantage of their late night showcase. Last year over 25,000 people visited Liverpool city centre on Light Night and the Town Hall had over 1,500 visitors. With numbers set to exceed that amount this year, this is one event not to be missed.
This year will be the first time Exchange Flags Square will be filled with such a high-end mix of hospitality such as Marco Pierre White from Hotel Indigo, The Hard Day’s Night Hotel, Atlantic Tower by Thistle, Gourmet Coffee, Viva Brazil, La Vina, Newz Bar, Salad Bowl, L1 Fish and Chips and many more in the one place all offering exclusive treats at the event.
Visitors should come with an appetite as the choice on offer is set to be beyond expectations. Thirsty visitors will be spoilt for choice with Strawberry Fields cocktails, Champagne, Sangria, Fruit Juices, fine wines and simple beers and coffee on offer, to name a few!!
Enticing sights and enchanting smells from BBQ’s, paella, chicken chasseur, steaks, fish& chips, gourmet sandwiches, cream teas with jam & cream scones and much more will certainly get mouths watering.
The Commercial District, made up of 720 members, has invited the leisure sector to come together and to launch its first food and drink festival with a view to becoming an annual event.
Entertainment will also be provided by RARE Studio along with powerful choirs singing from the Town Hall balcony on to Exchange Flags, with further pockets of animation over the two day festival.
