Liverpool’s Adult Social Care services are celebrating a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), awarded following a recent inspection.
This positive rating is a significant achievement and reflects the council’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to residents who draw on support.
The CQC’s assessment looked closely at how well the council is meeting its responsibilities to support adults with care needs.
The inspection praised the service for putting people at the heart. Residents said they felt listened to, their wishes were respected, and their families were involved in decisions.
Staff also shared that they feel motivated, supported, and valued in their roles.
CQC Inspectors also highlighted:
- Leadership is visible, approachable, and knowledgeable, with a clear understanding of the challenges faced in adult social care.
- The council’s strong focus on prevention, helping people stay independent and live in their own homes for as long as possible.
- Improvements in waiting times for assessments and reviews.
- Better support for people with sensory impairments, such as hearing or vision loss.
These improvements are part of a wider transformation programme that’s reshaping Adult Social Care in Liverpool, with a focus on empowering residents to live independently, stay connected to their communities, and thrive.
