The devolution deal setting out the new powers and responsibilities for the Liverpool City Region has now been published.
You can read a copy here.
It follows detailed negotiations with Government about how we generate economic growth and jobs, how we build the key infrastructure to strengthen our economy and how we provide the right mix of skills and training for people across the Liverpool City Region area so they benefit.
The deal represents the biggest devolution of power from central government in a generation and forms a key plank of the government’s desire to create a ‘Northern Powerhouse’ to strengthen the UK’s economy.
The deal will now be put to meetings of the participating City Region councils on Thursday 19th November for approval.
