Liverpool Marathon 2012 takes place on Sunday October 14 – and entries are flooding in.
The race, which starts in Birkenhead Park and finishes in front of Liverpool’s famous Liver Buildings, will see 10,000 runners take part in the 26 miles and 385 yards challlenge.
The start time for the 2012 RunLiverpool Marathon is 9.30am with runners lining up in Birkenhead Park.
Transport arrangements will be via the Wirral loop line train service from Liverpool city centre (three stops from James Street) or the event shuttle bus service which will go from the designated car park.
Entries for the event will remain open until the full 10,000 allocation is taken up. A further announcement will be made on the official site once the event nears capacity.

Where is the start and how do I get there?
The start is in Birkenhead Park on the Wirral and is a short distance from Liverpool city centre. On race morning you can get there by using the MerseyRail train service or the event shuttle bus.
What time do the trains or buses start?
Trains start at 6.30am on race morning and buses at 6.45am. Train timetables are only changed for the marathon service from Liverpool to Birkenhead Park. Other timetables will still operate a standard Sunday service. Buses will pick up outside Debenhams on Lord Street alongside Liverpool ONE.
Bus ticket are £5 for spectators and runners alike. Spectators should retain their ticket for the return journey once the race has begun. Under 15 travel free on the bus.
Normal MerseyRail train charges apply on race day. No concessions.
Bus tickets will be available in advance from the event office at Natterjack running shop in North John Street (just along from Mathew Street) until 5pm on Friday October 12 and from the Marathon Information Desk at the Equator Building in Mann Island just by the finish line on Saturday October 13.

Baggage will be transported from Birkenhead Park just prior to runners leaving at 9.30am. Kit will arrive at the finish line before you do yourself!
Make sure you use the official kit bag which will be available at the Race Information Desk (Equator Building) on Saturday October 13 or Marathon Office (North John Street up to Friday, October 12 or at the baggage buses on race morning).
Is there a time limit?
Yes, six hours.
Are these races run under license?
Yes, both marathon and 10K races are runner under UKA License.
Are the courses accurate?
Yes, both have UKA Course Accuracy certificates.
Where is the marathon finish?
The finishing line is at the end of Mann Island – as last year.
