Liverpool to host UN World Cities Day conference

United Nations Habitat is hosting its main event for World Cities Day in Liverpool.

The 31st of October is celebrated as World Cities Day and the aim of the day is to promote the international community’s interest in global urbanisation. It encourages countries to co-operate to meet the opportunities and challenges of sustainable urban development.

The overall World Cities Day theme is ‘Better City, Better Life’ and this year’s particular theme is Building Sustainable and Resilient Cities’. 

Liverpool’s twin city Shanghai, will have an exhibition based at Liverpool Central Library until Nov 1st. The World Cities Day conference and accompanying exhibition showcases Liverpool’s’ partnership with shanghai and the cities resilience and future growth.
