Marketing Liverpool are hosting a VIP delegation of 38 VisitBritain executives in the city ahead of the annual VisitBritain Insights seminar VIBE North, which will be held on Thursday 15th October at the Maritime Museum.
The group, who have travelled from as far afield as Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro, will experience many of the city delights on a Liverpool City Region familiarisation trip taking in everything from Liverpool’s Waterfront, a UNESCO world heritage site to “Another Place” by Antony Gormley as well as a Dazzle Ferry ‘cross the Mersey.
Councillor Wendy Simon, Cabinet member for Culture and Tourism will address the group at a Welcome Talk at Hard Day’s Night Hotel in the city centre and VisitBritain representatives will also hear from Liverpool John Lennon Airport on their expansion plans and new route strategy, with particular emphasis on long-haul markets.
Chris Brown, director of Marketing Liverpool, said: “We heartily welcome our colleagues from VisitBritain to our vibrant city for a taste of our wonderful tourism offering and to meet with our many tourism partners and stakeholders, all of which will continue to grow our partnership work and promote the Liverpool message in key international markets.”
VIBE is the one of two travel trade events, which will hosted by the city over the next six months and is a pre-cursor to ExploreGB, VisitBritain’s flagship event, which offers tourism businesses the chance to meet and do business with 300 of the most high-profile travel operators from around the world. ExploreGB will be at the ACC Liverpool on the 3rd and 4th March 2015.
