Latest reports from the Government suggest local elections will go ahead on Thursday 6 May 2021.
In Liverpool, there are currently four scheduled elections taking place on this date:
- Liverpool CC Mayoral Election – to elect a Mayor for Liverpool.
- Local Elections – to elect councillors for all 30 wards in the city.
- Police & Crime Commissioner Election – to elect a Police and Crime Commissioner for Merseyside.
- Combined Authority Mayoral Election – to elect a Mayor for the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.
Plans are already being put in place to make sure that if you vote at a polling station, it is as Covid-safe as possible.
Anyone voting in person should wear a face covering when in the polling station (unless medically exempt) and social distancing must be adhered to at all times. Hand sanitiser will be located at the stations and as normal pencils will also be available to use, but electors are encouraged to bring along their own pen or pencil at this time.
Alternatively, residents can choose to vote via post or ask a proxy to vote on their behalf. To do this, click here. Please apply as early as possible as there are deadlines as to when applications can be received.
