Liverpool’s Lord Mayor headed down to the Pier Head yesterday morning to welcome home the city’s very own X Factor finalist, Christopher Maloney.
She was joined by fans who were awaiting Christopher’s arrival ahead of the big final which will take place this Saturday (8 December) in Manchester.
Councillor Sharon Sullivan said: “I was delighted to welcome home Christopher and give him a boost before the final on Saturday.
“I would urge everyone in Liverpool to show your support for a fellow scouser, pick up the phone and vote.
“Christopher is a lovely lad and a great ambassador for the city. I shall be watching at the weekend and wish him all the luck in the world. I am sure that with the fantastic support of his family, friends and fans he can go on and win the show.”
Christopher, who arrived in the city on one of the famous Mersey Ferries, was delighted with the welcome he received and said he was looking forward to having a cuppa and a catch up with his beloved nan.
