Liverpool Cathedral will host the Lord Mayor’s Annual Civic Service on Sunday 13 October 2013, a celebration of people and life in the city.
Civic dignitaries, voluntary and community groups from across the city are expected to attend the Service.
The Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Gary Millar and the Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson will both be reading at the Service and the Sermon will be read by The Very Reverend Dr Pete Wilcox, Dean of Liverpool.
Liverpool’s Lord Mayor, Councillor Gary Millar said: “The Annual Civic Service is a chance to celebrate civic life and the rich, diverse communities and people that we have here in this amazing city.
“It is also an opportunity for communities and individuals to unite and give thanks to those who continue to motivate and inspire us on a daily basis. It is a collective show of gratitude and thanks.
“I hope that everyone involved in this year’s Civic Service will take a moment to reflect and remember those less fortunate than ourselves.
“I would like to encourage as many people as possible to come along and take part in the service.”
Those wishing to attend are requested to arrive at 2.30 p.m. The Service will begin at 3.00 p.m. and concludes at 4:00 pm.
