Merseyside Polonia is organising a special event in the run up to Valentine’s Day and not only for those in love.
On Tuesday, 12th February 2013 from 6.30 pm, the Liverpool-based Polish community association will host the ‘Love in Every Language’ event at the Bluecoat. This is an opportunity to share with the audience the love that unites, goes beyond any boundaries and resonates in all the languages of the world.
For the fourth year running Merseyside Polonia hosts the event and has invited representatives of diverse Liverpool Communities to share their poetry, music and songs in celebration of love.
‘Love in Every Language’ is a unique initiative that gives commercialised Valentine’s Day a deeper meaning, Gosia McKane, director of Merseyside Polonia said. “It is a great occasion to express your feelings in your mother tongue, but also an opportunity to realise that regardless of speaking different languages, we all have something in common – love – that goes beyond any boundaries”.
The event is free to attend and people can take part whether they would like to share poetry from their homeland, talk about love, or just spend a nice evening together.
This project is financially supported through the Liverpool City Council and Liverpool NHS Primary Care Trust: Culture & Wellbeing Grass Roots Grant Programme 2012.
